Activities
Courts
Ours are public courts so “first come first served” is the protocol. There are rarely conflicts of use but courts must be surrendered after 45 minutes of play if new players are waiting.
The courts are lined for tennis, pickleball, and basketball and can accommodate all.
Pickleball
There are portable nets for pickleball. Two pickleball games can be played on one tennis court. If you play during unscheduled times simply unlock the wheels of the portable net to roll it into position.
Moretown has organized pickleball open to all. You can view our schedule here: https://moretownpickleballplayers.playerlineup.com/events
You are welcome to join our “team”! This will allow you to sign up to play and get a weekly digest showing you when regular games are scheduled. Beginner introductory sessions are scheduled from time to time. If you are new to pickleball there is usually someone playing who can lend you a paddle and help you learn.
Please contact Susan Werntgen (802) 496-2594 for more information.
Tennis
Interested in joining others for a game? Go to https://moretowntennis.playerlineup.com. We offer a schedule for connecting with other players.
Tentative seasonal schedule on courts:
Check playerlineup.com for weekly changes and additions or to sign up for scheduled open play sessions. Note: Morning games will shift an hour earlier during summer to avoid the heat.

Basketball
One basket is on the tennis court. Come and shoot around or organize a half-court game.
Trails
Walking and mountain biking trails are open to all. No motorized vehicles are allowed on the trails.
Bike Skills
The bike skills park is open to all. Bring your bike and enjoy perfecting your skills navigating hills, bumps, logs, and elevated features. Mad River Riders offers a gathering for youngsters at our Moretown Skills Park on Tuesday evenings during the summer. Bring your tyke and your bike and enjoy some fun! Go to Mad River Rippers for more information.
Storywalk
A Storywalk provides a way to combine outdoor exercise with literacy. The Moretown Memorial Library installed and maintains the Storywalk. Enjoy a walk on friendly terrain to read pages from a picture book which have been placed in weather-proof frames. The books are changed out frequently, so plan to visit more than once!
The entrance to the Storywalk is to the right of the fence closest to the school.
Pollinator Garden
Moretown was inspired by Bee The Change, hoping to bring pollinator gardens to every town in Vermont.
